Rebecca Askea, M.D.

Dr. Askea completed her Bachelor and Master of Science in biomedical engineering at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. She subsequently graduated Alpha Omega Alpha from Mercer University’s School of Medicine.  Dr. Askea completed her surgical internship and diagnostic radiology residency at San Antonio Military Medical Center where she served as chief resident, was named Resident of the Year and a finalist for the Guiberteau Award from the Texas Radiological Society.  She joins Abercrombie after serving 4 years as an active duty radiologist and Flight Commander of Diagnostic Imaging at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia.  Her interests are Women’s imaging, including mammography and breast biopsies, emergency imaging, quality improvement, appropriate use, and patient safety. Dr. Askea is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and a member of multiple societies, including the American College of Radiology and the Society of Breast Imaging.
