Abercrombie Radiology established the Breast Center in 1986 amid the growing concern for the early detection and prevention of breast cancer. That same year, the Center was accredited by the American College of Radiology — an accreditation which covers all areas of operation, including the mammographic equipment, the technologist and the radiologists. Truly, from the first simple breast xray performed here over 20 years ago to the technologically superior mammograms we offer today, Abercrombie Radiological Consultants has continually proven its dedication to the promotion of women's health.

DIAGNOSTIC MAMMOGRAPHY
Our diagnostic exam includes a mammogram by one of our board certified radiologists. Immediately following the exam, we discuss the results with the patient and deliver the report to her physician. Plus, we offer educational and instructional materials on the importance of monthly breast self examination.

SCREENING MAMMOGRAPHY
Each of our screening mammograms is interpreted by one of our Board certified radiologists, and a copy of the report is mailed to the physician. Immediate results are given to the patient at the time of the visit. With this procedure we also educate each patient about breast self examination.

ULTRASOUND EXAMS
If our radiologists find that it is necessary, we can perform breast ultrasound exams in conjunction with a mammogram. This non-invasive procedure is extremely helpful in defining areas of the breast which may be difficult to visualize with mammography alone.

THE LATEST EQUIPMENT
Mammographers at the Breast Center utilize digital mammography equipment, which is highly rated for consistency in image uniformity by the American College of Radiology. For ultrasound studies, we offer high resolution breast ultrasound.
